8-72 GM A Body Posi Rear Axle Originally out of a 1970 Chevelle. I'm not sure if it was originally a 4.10 gear from factory. Numbers I could find or make out are: 3969278NF GM 51 J169 12345 6790 or 8780 Hard to make out after I stripped and painted. Recently stripped down to bare metal and repainted. With new bushings and vent tube. I purchased this a few years ago from a friend because I thought it would fit in my '74 A Body (nope). I did remove the spring perches in an attempt to make it fit, but the upper bushing mounts are totally different. These will need to welded, but I do not have a reference vehicle to measure and re-weld. I did purchase the spring brackets from Currie Enterprises and they are included with the sale of the rear end. Rear end is in good shape, ring and pinion gears are in good shape, axles, bearings and seals are all in good shape. It did have a metal plate welded on for ladder bars from the friend I bought it from. I removed these, but there are some grinding marks on the axle. Nothing major, just being honest.
