1987 Porsche 928 S4 Automatic 4-Speed

Price:
$11,500
Summary:
Used 1987 Porsche 928 S4, 1,500 miles
Location:
Carolina Beach, NC
Description:

This is a very rare, German-engineered, exotic touring car. Porsche only produced 5,403 in 1987. The S4 is the last (and most advanced) of the 928 body designs. With a rear mounted 4-speed automatic transmission, an aluminum engine block, heads and alloy rods, pistons, aluminum hood and fenders and double galvanized body panels from the A-pillars back, Porsche achieved perfect 50/50 weight distribution. Combine the perfect balance with an innovative (even by today's standards) passive 4 wheel steering system and you have handling capabilities rivaling a full race car. These materials also mean this car will NEVER rust. The 32 valve 10:1 compression V8 engine with 4 overhead cams, ram air induction and computer monitored electronic fuel injection produces a staggering 316 hp and 317 torque, 0-60 times of 5.7 seconds and a top speed of 171 mph. This means that this was the fastest Porsche ever produced for sale in the US as of its production. The paint/shine on this car is phenomenal. There is 1 quarter-size ding on the right fender. Other than that, is has zero door dings & shines like new. Factory option 17 inch Porsche cup wheels and vented, drilled disks. Couple this with 4 piston Brembo brakes and this car will go from 0-100-0 in just 9 seconds. The pads are new. The interior is made for long trips on the autobahn and has the most comfortable seats I've sat in. The carpets (all 25 pieces) were replaced in December 2013 and are flawless. The rear seat backs were professionally embroidered with red "928" in matching font to the running boards. The leather has no tears or cracks. This a FULL leather car, meaning the headliner, door panels and rear panels are all high quality leather and are in pristine condition. The stereo is an aftermarket system with 8 Kicker speakers (all in factory mounts) and a 600 watt booster (there are ports for sub-woofers if you choose to install them). The car runs as strong today as the day it rolled off the production line. I took it on a 1500 mile road trip over the holidays with no problems what so ever. Driving this car through the mountains was a thrill. The oil still looks clean even after the long trip. As you will see from the following Hagerty link, the value on these cars has skyrocketed since 2012. The value for an average 928 S4 is $15,434. This car is well above average. http://www.hagerty.com/valuationtools/HVT/VehicleSearch/Report?vc=855260 Concept Carz shows an average auction price of $15,195. Keep in mind retailers buy cars at auction in order to sell them at a profit. http://www.conceptcarz.com/vehicle/default.aspx?carID=9951&i=8#menu Jeremy Clarkson of Top Gear called the 928 S4 the most beautiful car ever designed. I agree, as the pictures show, it has no bad side. The original sale price of this car pushed 70K in 1987. That's well over 100K in today's money. The best part? You can drive this car for years and sell it at a profit. It will appreciate, not depreciate. This car was loved, obviously garage kept. The previous owner had the intake manifold and brake calipers powder coated red. . . which I love! Surprisingly, parts for this car are readily available and inexpensive compared to other exotics. As a condition 1 car is valued at $37,700 and a condition 2 car at $22,900 (per Hagerty), This is an aggressive price. Tires are good, suspension is solid with no rattles or wobbles. There are a few things that aren't perfect: AC line needs to be repaired. Leaks Freon at the line end. Antilock brakes give a warning light. Brakes work great, but just not antilock. The dash gives a false brake/stop light warning on start up, but the lights work perfectly. Probably needs a new sensor. I wanted to make those repairs, but have run out of time. I have a new project I'm ready for. No low ballers or joy riders. Clean NC title in hand. No texts or emails. Please call: 502-396-676 zero (I am local in Ca...
