Totally Brilliant 1968 Marcos 1500GT, Uses the Ford Cortina 1500 GT Engine with Unique Twin SU 150CD Carbs.This is a Genuine 1 owner 25k miles car with receipts from new, it even has original Bill of sale and factory communication documentation.It was lovingly driven and spent all its life in South Carolina until 1982, it was then driven into the Heated and cooled basement garage and left undisturbed until 12 months ago!I have restored the car but kept its originality and Patina as it deserves.This is one of the last Woden Chassis vehicles, all drain holes were clear and as the car has always in a temperate climate the chassis is 100% sound and undamaged, Phew right !The interior was merly removed and cleaned, all the seating and vinyl was in great shape. The original carpets were not so they were all handmade using wilton carpet roll using the originals as patterns, they look fantastic.The dash was removed and the original laminate was refinished in Burl Walnut effect.All instruments were restored and replaced, everything works as it should.A new wiring harness in the original finish and pattern was handmade.Mechanically, the engine was removed and completely disassembled, it was all original sizing so all that was needed by the machine shop is honing and polishing of the crank. New Pistons, new rings, new bearings, new seals, Timing chain and sprockets. the block was decked. The head was surfaced , a valve seal and guide job was performed and new gaskets all round.The transmission was rebuilt using new bearings and seals all aroundThe following was also undertaken:Custom fabricated Exhaust system with stainless steel fittings and chrome tipsPetronix Ignition System with New LeadsRebuilt Generator and starter motorAeroQuip stainless brake and clutch linesNew Voltage regulatorNew Brake Calipers, pads and Rotors/DrumsNew Wheel Spinners and powder coated wheelsNew Tires x 5New Rubber all round, Headlamps, Door seals, Windshield front and rearNew Electric washer bottle nd motorThermostat, radiator cap,New Fuel Pump and LinesNew Water pumpCompletely rebuilt carbsNew Bushings all around, panhard rod, radius arms etcNew Clutch and Slave cylinderNew Master brake and Clutch CylindersNew Protech Coil overs all aroundRadiator was removed, pressure tested cleaned and sealedGas tank was removed and redcoatedNew cooling hoses all roundNew heater core and heater valveNew BatteryPeriod operating Becker radio Installed with new speakers in original podsNew period three way SeatbeltsI have a whole file of receipts and bills that will come with the car.Basically its all new. She starts on the button every time, Stops on a dime and goes like the clappers !Clean title.Its a highly unusual and quirky car that attract attention wherever driven.
