1933 Rolls-Royce Phantom II Saloon with Divisionby Thrupp & Maberly of London (160MS) that has been thoroughlyrestored and maintained and is perfect for touring or show. Thedesign features its low profile raked windshield and close coupledpaenger compartment, which look fantastic on this long wheelbasechais. The livery is in two toneBlack and Burgundy that is in very good condition with excellentshine and luster. High use areas, such as near the hood and doorsshow some wear, but overall it is simply stunning. The Burgundy hasa very slight luminescence that is only perceptible with directsunlight, when it surprisingly comes to life. The chrome andstainle are in excellent condition. The polished Llamar wheel discsare new as are the new black walled Michelin tires. The everflexcovered trunk is a fantastic look, making this elegant motorcarappear more as a sportscar. The distance from the windshield to thefront of the iconic Rolls-Royce grill is about six feet, which isnearly the same length of the paenger compartment. The height ofthe center of the windshield is about 11 inches. These designproportions really hint towards a racy and sexy sports saloon.Thrupp & Maberly really got the design right. The interior is inoverall excellent condition with its soft and supple Burgundypleated Leather for the chauffeurs compartment, complemented withBurgundy Wilton wool carpeting and gorgeous burl wood and straightgrained wood. There is some milking in the finish of the wood onlyin the front door cap panels. The Burgundy leather front doorpanels feature a starburst design that is reminiscent of art deco.The dashboard has a beautiful display of instruments and switches,including a wonderful Bakelite cigar lighter. The rear paengercompartment features soft and supple Cream Leather pleated hidesand cream silk headlining. The Burgundy Wilton wool carpeting isnearly as new. The wood in the rear compartment is nearly perfectas well and is simply stunning. 160MS also features beautiful grabhandles and mirrored vanities with cigar lighters. The rear doorpanels are Cream leather and also feature the stunning starburstdesign. The engine compartment is detailed for show and isfantastic, showing the incredible advances in engineering thatRolls-Royce had made by 1933. The venerable 7.7 liter (468 cid)pushrod-OHV straight six was a refined version of the New Phantom(PI) with a new croflow cylinder head. Synchromesh had been addedto third and fourth gears making for a much more refined drivingexperience. This engine and the cooling system have all beenrebuilt and are in excellent condition. The maive weight and longwheelbase of 150 inches makes for a wonderful ride quality.
