1982 Mercedes-Benz 380 SL Convertible ExteriorBathed in Sun Yellow, straight heavy steel is used to fabricatethis "Sport Light" convertible. A few dings, scuffs and overallstaining is seen in the paint, along with some mis-match of coloron the tops of the fenders. However, this could be due to thestaining. Black tear free canvas provides the topper, and a clearrear plastic window is within the top. Also, an optional bodymatching fiberglass hardtop is along with this consignment. A"Pagoda Style" car due to its roofline, all chrome and trimmingexterior wise are looking great! Rear taillights are ribbed forself cleaning, did you know? Standard MB wheels are on all 4corners wrapped in 205/70R14 blackwall radials from the 39th weekof 2021.InteriorBlack leather makes up the front bucket "chairs" and these arelooking slightly used with all good surfaces but not withoutnotable age wear on thedrivers outer bolster and lower cushion. Inthe center is a burl covered console which has the shift lever,emergency flasher, and power window switches. Moving upward in thecenter we note climate control buttons and a slightly wornAM/FM/Cassette player within more wood burl. Just above this are afew rocker switches and 3 round air pods for the heat/AC. The dashis black molded vinyl and all original configuration. Throughoutthe cabin, black accenting carpet works the black vinyl making upthe door panels. Behind the seats is a carpeted storage area withsome light fade and behind under the flip up tonneau is storage forthe top.DrivetrainUnder the hood plenty of patina is showing on the original 3.8Liter V8 complete with Bosch Jetronic EFI. A 3-speed automatictransmission is on back as well as a 2.47 rear axle.UndercarriageNo rust, nice aging, and little road dirt show underneath.Independent coil spring suspension is seen on both the front andback, as are power disc brakes on all 4 corners. A stock style dualexhaust system is on for the exhale and is looking nearly new.Drive-AbilityTop down, and a luxury German Sports car and what else do you need?It went fast, handled like it was on rails and all functions wereworking Ausgezeichnet save for the AC needing repair...god blessyou!
