1967 Chevrolet CoFor consignment, a car that will make the hair on a Corvetteaficionados neck stand up. An L-71 Corvette, 427ci from 1967. Thisis a 1, listen close, ONE owner car, and has seen 1 repaint around20 years ago due to 5 or 6 cracks in the original lacquer paint.This car has never been shown and never been judged so its an openpalette for the new owner. Every number is matching, and it is asclean as they come. Low original miles with a mere 22,461 clockedsince 1967! Bought new at Klick Lewis Chevrolet in Palmyra,Pennsylvania when the owner was a mere 20 years old, (meaning thisbeast had to be registered in his parents name until he was 21),and lovingly cared for over the years. This car is designated forthe main showroom, and will have velvet ropes strung around it, butis definitely here for the taking, and looking but please notouching!ExteriorThe pointy shark-like lines of this beautiful body are just wellaligned and bathed in Lynndale Blue. A stinger hood with a blackpaint to highlight it is seen on the hood which rests comfortablybetween the front hidden headlight portion and the creased roundedfront quarter tops. Another "crimp" if you will, is seen on thesides running through the tops of the flattened wheel wells,through the doors and on to the round topped rear quarters makingthe straight line extend through the rear wheel well. Shiny perfectsplit bumpers are in front and back and a chromed bezeled roundturn signal light is below. Side pipes with factory ribbed andpunched guards hang from either rocker and floating just above onthe front quarter are some "gills" for venting the engine. A nicelytrimmed front windshield supports a black vinyl hardtop which isremovable, as this car is also a convertible! Before we get intothat though a shout to the rear glass on the hardtop, its awraparound. The convertible top is in excellent condition with justa slight tear at the seam on the bottom middle where the plasticmeets the canvas but hey, its original! This top shows in black andhas a fairly clear plastic rear window. More pointed look for therear deck with dual round tail lighting on either side and moresplit bumpers below. 15-inch rally wheels are all around and shineto the fullest.InteriorBlack vinyl covers the door panels and there is plenty of chrome togo around here too with the round knob door actuator, chromed pullbar and wing and main window cranks. Inside, perfectly presentingblack bomber style buckets with low curved backs and covered inblack vinyl frame the back of the drivers compartment. In front isthe dual curved eyebrow dash, with the drivers side sporting thegauge cluster containing all round gauges and some pulls with ablack textured panel surrounding within the eyebrow. On thepassengers side is another eyebrow, this time housing the archedtop glove box with brushed aluminum door. In the center the dashfalls gracefully downward and in this area, we note the verticallymounted Delco AM/FM radio, several climate control knobs and alarge chronograph clock in the center of this mid section. Theconsole has the handbrake, a small storage glovebox and the metalchromed round knobbed gear shifter. Black carpeting floods thefloors and has protective carpeted Corvette badged floor mats. Inback of the buckets is another small black carpeted storagearea.DrivetrainBy the numbers and here we go!!! 427ci L71 V8 numbers matching3904531 B287 denote a 1967 427ci V8 with B287 denoting a castingdate of Feb. 28th 1967. The stamped serial number of T0310JE7115121(Tonawanda NY March 10th 1967 427ci 435hp 3x2bbl 4 speed manualtransmission. A trio of 2-barrel carburetors sit atop of thismighty 427. On the back is a Muncie M20 3885010 P7C16 7S115121 fromMarch 16th 1967. Behind this is a 4.11 Posi rear axle with an FBstamping code. This is all complete with an orange/red GM block andvalve covers, a triangular chromed air cleaner covering and supplehoses which are like new. We note that the engine was freshened upwith new valve springs and a new camshaft, (factory specs), whenthe car was repainted.UndercarriageAbsolute showroom, no rust, just perfectly preserved or restoredsurfaces, black steel, silver cast suspension parts no corrosion,and a brushed stainless spare tire structure in back. In frontindependent coil springs, and on back, IRS with frame mounteddifferential unit, double universal jointed tubular axles, andtransverse multi leaf springs. Disc brakes are mounted all around,and the exhaust goes to either side for the exhale.rvette Roadster
