This Imperial Crown Saratoga Convertible (VIN code 2) is one ofonly 618 examples made in 1960 and one of 17,703 total Imperialsmade in 1960. It was assembled on November 11, 1959, in ChryslersImperial factory in Detroit, Michigan (VIN code 4). The previousowner acquired the vehicle in 2017. Which had underwent a cosmeticrestoration before his purchase.The cars exterior is in overall excellent condition with onlyminor blemishes visible at close range. The car was repainted underprior ownership according to the seller. It features a contrastingwhite, power-folding top that is in very good order. The carschrome bumpers fit tightly to the body. Chryslers 1960 stylingincluded fender-mounted sideview mirrors, requisite tailfins and astylized spare-tire bump fashioned into the trunk lid. The enginebay is very tidy and the battery appears new.This car rolls on Coker Classic wide whitewall tires, size225/75R15 at all four corners. Each tire is wrapped aroundtru-spoke wire wheels. The wheels and tires are all in very goodorder and a full-size spare tire resides in the trunk. This carrides on a 129-inch wheelbase.Under the hood is a 413 CID Wedge V-8 engine (code P-41) with a10.1 compression ratio. Backing up the motor is a TorqueFlitethree-speed automatic transmission (code A466) and a 2.93:1 rearend. An oil change was completed in 2022. Driver conveniencefeatures include air-conditioning, power steering, four-wheel powerdrum brakes, power locks and power windows. The A/C compressorengages, but the blower is inop at time of listing. We are lookinginto the problem currently.There is a replacement red interior with a color-coordinateddashboard and door panels. The red vinyl bench seats look great butone of the buttons on the drivers side seat bottom is missing,though the rear bench sports a center fold-down armrest. The blackcarpet offers some contrast while the metal dashboard matches theseats. The gauge cluster has a speedometer and a full set ofancillary gauges. On the left side of the gauges is Chryslerspush-button transmission. The two-spoke, square steering wheel withrounded corners is in overall great condition while the red innerdoor panels are also in very good order.The 1960 Imperial adopted wildly exaggerated styling, featuringfront fascia with a swooping bumper, gaping mesh grille, giantchrome eagle, and hooded quad headlights and tall rear fins.Soaring fins had bullet-style tail lamps at the peak of the fin,with a chrome ring surrounding it. The grille and bumper on thefront of the 1960 used large pieces of heavy chrome, and thefurrowed brows of the fenders over the double sets of headlightsgave the car a ponderous look. In common with most other 1960Chrysler products, the Imperial featured the new "High-Tower" seatwith the driver-side back individually contoured and raised aboveof the rest of the front seat for increased driver comfort andshoulder support. Also for 1960, Imperial changed back to 15-inchwheels from the 14-inch wheels that had been standard since the1957 model. While the rest of Chryslers lineup adopted unibodyconstruction, Imperial retained its body on frame construction.Documents include the original owners manual.
