This 1966 Austin Healey 3000 MkIII has been with 2 Tennesseefamilies in the last 50 years. A young man purchased this Healeyaround 1970 when he was attending the University of Tennessee, andhe kept it until 2007 when it went to its 2nd owner.It is a very original and unmolested car.It runs and drives very well. The entire braking system was rebuiltrecently including a new booster, hoses and cylinders. Steering istight.New stainless steel exhaust systemShe is equipped with a modern 5 speed conversion from The DrivenMan. This is a new transmission and no modifications were to bemade to the car for its installation. The gear lever is in theoriginal position and even looks like the factory 1966 lever andknob. The gear ratios are much better suited to the Austin Healeyengine than those of the old 4 speed. 5th gear is of courseoverdrive and the gearbox is superior in every way to the original4 speed with electric switched overdrive.The original door panels and seats are in very good condition fortheir age. It has a new correct spec carpet kit and new burled woodinstrument panel. The top is old, but very serviceable.The paint is presentable, but it is decades old. There are severallittle scratches and chips, but overall she presents well.The original chrome is in excellent condition for its age, and theglass is good other than some delamination in the corner of thewindshield.The body is very good. The floors were properly replaced about 15years ago.Overall a very straight, solid, honest and original Austin Healey3000. She runs and drives very well but needs a little attention totake care of her various squeaks and rattles.
