For sale, $625 obo
Used 2009 50 miles
Selling a 2009 Trek 7.3FX bike, along with panniers, rain gear, and a few things to make touring easier. First, the bike - 20" aluminum frame, 700/32c tires. For reference, it fits a lanky human who is 6'0". Some minor paint scratches from locking it up.Trek's FX models are hybrids designed for commuting, and this one in particular has a few modifications. For starters, I've put a road-style drop down handle bar and Shimano road shifters on to make it more comfortable for long rides. Other parts have been swapped in and out to accommodate the road bar setup, including a road bike front deraileur and modified rack struts which are best explained by my little video : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pTsmxP3fDKA&feature=youtu.beI've taken this bike on a few tours and used it as a reliable commuter since I got it, but I just don't use it since I drive to work. It's in very good condition and is rust-free thanks to regular cleaning and the fact that I've always stored it inside. ACCESSORIES INCLUDED : I'm selling it as a package, including basic touring supplies and some handy rain gear (because this is Seattle).-New, unused Kool-Stop Salmon tip break pads. If you ride in Seattle without these, get it together, man.-like-new (under 50 miles of wear) Schwalbe Marathon Plus tires (paid 90)-Two large (rear) Arkel sackaroo panniers, including yellow rain covers. One small pannier is thrown in as well. The two rear panniers can haul plenty of groceries.-Kryptonite Evolution 7" lock, 5' cable, comes with 3 keys. (paid 65)-Several bungee cables, including two spandex cargo nets, and a couple roll-top dry bags.-Topeak lightweight pocket pump. I kid you not, it is called the "Pocket Rocket Master Blaster".tt-Mavic front wheel with Campagnalo hub - I bought it used so I'm not including this in the pricing.-Topeak rear rack, 50lb rating - already installed.-tire levers, multitool, head lamp, patch kit, Specialized brand adjustable helmet (just buy yourself a $5 foam insert)-Cabela's Ultra-Dry rain pants. Easily slide on over your work clothes and keep your pants dry! -Oakley ski goggles, good condition. Why? So the cold air doesn't make my eyes water and cause my contacts to fall out, and because it keeps one's face warm.It hurts to be selling this, but being a grad student in the city looks to be a make-it-by-the-skin-of-your-teeth affair. This bike was a graduation present from my undergrad, and it's gone up the coast of Maine and from El Paso to Albuquerque with me. If the frame's the right size for you, you couldn't ask for a better tour-ready bike under $1000. As the video details, touring bikes are tricky to assemble because road shifters don't always play nice with linear-pull brakes (aka V-brakes).$625, down from original asking price of 675.
