The contrasting carpet isin similar great shape insulation was placed under the newer parts.The three-spoke steering wheel looks like futuristic for the periodwhile the silver-blue dashboard and white interior door panels havefaux wood inserts for warmth. The courtesy lights still work, too.Horn and power door locks are inop. A column-mounted shifter and afactory AM radio round out the interior.Changes were made to enlarge the available passenger room on the1963 Lincoln Continental. This involved an instrument panelredesign to allow for more knee and leg room, relocating the frontseat forward slightly to improve rear seat leg room, and designinga new deck lid and reconfiguring the luggage compartment to holdmore luggage. Changes to the engine provided 20 additionalhorsepower, and several optional items were made standard in 1963.In line with a number of vehicles in the United States, theelectrical charging system introduced an alternator, replacing thegenerator.
