1936 Ford Deluxe SedanExteriorDark blue paint in nice condition bathes the exterior panels. Everynow and again there are hints of orange peel texture in the paint,and inclusions are noted throughout. Wonderfully formed steelcurves abound on this car, and they are accented with eitherbrite-work, or just plain shine. Bumpers with their invertedeyebrow center dip, headlight bezels, handles and mirrors are allexcellently restored with no dimpling or rusting. From its verticalribbed "shield" style grille complete with blue oval and V8 hoodadornment we are rolling in style. Rolling with teardrop headlightsand chrome windshield trim, its all class. Also, one has to lovethe large V and the figure 8 within its logo on the dog dishhubcaps, wrapped with wide whites and thin bias plys. Keep itsimple stupid (KISS) abounds and is wholly subscribed to on thismodel. A spare tire covered in steel and chrome rests above therear bumper and hangs from the rear of this car.InteriorTan broadcloth abounds on this interior where it can be seen on thedoor panels which are slightly wrinkled, and front bucket seats. Itis also seen on the rear bench, and pillars as well as on theheadliner. A few stains and discoloration can be noted throughout,but the tuck tufting on the seats is uber plush and fit for a king.The tan steel dash in Art Deco style, has wonderful cream-coloredgauges with fine pointers and Art Deco numbering and graphics.Fronting this is in my mind worth the price of admission with aBanjo style steering wheel sharing a nice patina and emblazonedwith that iconic V8 logo which Im a sucker for! Bakelite knobsthat have darkened a bit to brown color and chrome trim have lotsof patina and show a life well used.DrivetrainA V8 with 221 cubes in flathead form is buttoned up under the sidehinged hood. A single 2-barrel carburetor tops this mill, and a3-speed manual transmission and 4.11 gears make up thedrivetrain.UndercarriageA fine patina of surface rust graces nearly every surface of theundercarriage with all remaining solid except an area of thedrivers floor pan that has succumbed to invasive rust and showsthe carpeting underlayment. A single exhaust with a new muffler andtailpipe are on for the exhale and transverse leaf spring, (buggystyle), suspension is on all 4 corners with mechanical drum brakesseen everywhere.Drive-AbilityStarts easily, runs smoothly, and drives very nicely. Going up anddown through the gears just swimmingly, and the original interioris still good and comfortable. There is nothing better thanspinning an old banjo style wheel, it is relatable to driving as abus with its large diameter. We thoroughly enjoyed our ride.Nice original looking exterior cleaned up and repainted, cleanchrome bumpers, and those fantastic teardrop headlights, you are inArt Nouveau heaven. Inside you move to Art Deco heaven andbroadcloth abundance, all in its original form. Its held upnicely, and at present is better than the original. A fine buy forthe asking price. Imagine running about in your Tudor, and maybeeven eventually upgrading to a Fordor. Leave it to Henry to come upwith these terms!
